IF and nutrient goals

A question about IF - on the day or two where one refrains from eating until afternoon in an intermittent fast, does one then try to still meet all nutrient/caloric goals later in the day, or does one just take the fewer calories and nutrients as part of the process?

 

I find that when I skip my nutrient rich breakfast I have to eat bigger meals later to catch up on nutrients. Which is the correct method? Fewer nutrients and fewer calories on IF days or an attempt to still fulfill all nutrient goals no matter the skipped meal?
