FrederickSebastian
Hi Everyone! My name is Fred Sebastian and I am new to the world of CRON-dieting in practice though I've been a member here for quite some time. I have spend about 50% of my life in good shape and about 50% of my life obese and am now 220lbs and 5'2", so I'm obviously overweight. I'm working on losing weight healthily and would love to get to know you all better. There is no way I am living any more of my life being overweight. It's depresses me and makes me feel so sluggish and also, It's so unhealthy! I have recently started eating right and will really miss eating lots of cheese and chicken thighs as I am going vegetarian and heard that cheese causes inflammation and is generally not good for you (along with most dairy) when not eaten in moderation. My favorite food to eat is pasta with cheese but I am learning not to eat stuff like that any more. I have learned that I really like salads when I can put things like nuts, seeds, berries, eggs and avocados in. I have found that when eating a healthier plant-based diet there are so many unique and interesting flavors that different foods have that it makes it hard to STOP eating healthy. I am now eating salads 4x a day, and though I am not at the CR% I want to be at, I am getting there. The food is so hard to resist due to it's tastiness and life can get boring when you're not eating if you don't keep yourself busy! I would really like to beat the record for oldest living person one day and would be surprised (and honored) if I were among the top. I have done a great deal of research on CR-dieting, Raw Foods dieting, exercise, longevity, supplements and fasting so I am hoping my past will not work against me (past drug addict and alcoholic). I am determined to move forward and do the best I can in dieting and exercise without obsessing over it too much (I could get hit by a car tomorrow). I strive to make this dieting and exercise thing fun for myself and hope you find a way to as well. Encouragement and support go a long way and I hope the rest of you the best in your journeys! Happy dieting! Link to comment
Matt
Nice to have you on the forum 🙂 How's your progress so far on the diet? I agree that there are so many interesting and unique flavors on a plant-based diet compared to a typical western diet. I look forward to my breakfast every morning, which is very different than what most people eat because it's a big salad. People wonder if I get bored of eating it, but nope! I look forward to it more than any pizza or whatever that I used to enjoy before. I guess you still have a lot of weight to lose? Make sure you don't go too fas. Slow and steady. As for beating the record of the oldest person, I believe that will be me! 😛 J/K, there are older CRONies here that I hope will beat Calment's record of 122. 🙂 Link to comment
FrederickSebastian
Hi @Matt... Nice to meet you... Looks like we're about the same age. I turn 35 in about a month. I wish I knew about CR when I was younger so I could have started at an earlier age but you know, we can't always have what you want. The day I stopped doing drugs recreationally (I still take meds and use CBD oil for insomnia) I decided I wanted to give this life all I got and eventually came across the CR diet. It's stuck with me ever since. I am 210 today, was at 198 a few weeks ago but somehow managed to put weight back on. The most I've ever weighed is 240 so I am down quite a bit. I just started CR again this week after giving up after I reached 198 thinking I wan't losing weight quick enough. I am going back on CR and fasting every now and then as well. Fasting had helped me tremendously as far as weight loss goes... I certainly hope someone beats Jeanne Calment's record and who knows? Maybe one day we'll be up there too! I am a writer and a painter so I can work whenever I please and stumbled across the link to your website today, and I'm gonna be checking it out tonight. Looks thorough... Good luck in your dieting and hope to hear more from you soon! Fred Link to comment
