dzingubel
Hello lovely calorie restrictors, I am a complete newbie (I joined today!) and although I have been looking into calorie restriction for a number of years, I have been unable to commit due to a number of specific health issues Consequently my general health has suffered and I am now even more interested in renewing my overall health... I am based in London and having seen how wonderfully suportive everyone on this forum is, I was wondering if anyone knows of a London/UK based group or society that I could become involved with. I would also appreciate any advice that the more experienced members could offer a newbie getting started please :) So sorry to ask so much so soon... Many thanks and best wishes D Link to comment
Linda6214
Hi Everyone, I'd like to introduce myself. I am new to the CR Society as of today. I am 49, 5"4 and feel best at 114, BMI of 19. I can consume 1000 calories a day and lose but only 1200 to maintain. Period. I exercise every day and I never adjust calorie intake based on exercise. It is already factored in for me. Staying trim takes more discipline each passing year it seems. I joined the CR Society today because I want to have the support of other like minded individuals with the same health focused goal where food consumption is concerned. My Dad died of Cancer and my Mother's side from Heart disease. I am wellness focused. I want to proactively decrease my risk factors by eating a nutritionally sound diet, 360 days of the year. (yes, 5 days of holiday or birthday cheating) I am a Whole Foods and Farmer's Market buyer to ensure organically fresh food products. I invite any member of this CR Society who wants to support and be supported with this personal healthy eating goal to reach out so we can do this together. It is NOT easy to make good food choices every meal of every day. We need to stick together. I am glad I found this organization. Please be in touch if you are interested in more of a one on one or group support process. Linda Link to comment
gasparbrassantos
good day! i'm also based in london, just starting out with the 'make a habit of track what you eat' stage. i've read several places that it's a good idea to start tracking your biomarkers even before starting to reduce your caloric intake. anybody knows a london based doctor that is friendly to cronies and can help out with this? it'd be good to be understood and be able to be honest and say "this is what i'm going to try out". thanks, GBS Link to comment
BrianMDelaney
Welcome gasparbrassantos! (and welcome to Linda -- I somehow missed your post) I asked around about doctors in the London area, but got no responses. We really need to develop a list of CR-friendly physicians. Various beginnings have been made, though. See for example, the following thread: Finding a primary care doctor And if you happen to find a good CR-friendly or -aware physician, please let us know!
