timc
Hi All, We are rebuilding a live patient here (the forum/website software was upgraded and all our old modifications/theming needs to be restored). Things may look a little different for a while until done. At least the forum seems to work. -Tim Link to comment
Moderator
Quite a few things to fix still... This issue was reported and will be addressed sooner or later: "XXX more content XXX" appears several times on the page indicating broken links. This was pointed out to me by a web site visitor.. BrianMDelaney
Another (possible?) problem: the "keep me logged in" function isn't working. I've changed nothing (browser, permissive cookie settings, etc.), but I now always have to log in after being away for a day or so. Not a big deal, of course. Thought I'd mention it, though. timc
I'm running Firefox 33.0 (and it is updating again... so many updates), it does keep me logged in (overnight at least - I tend to check-in at least once a day) - is your password at least being remembered by the browser? BrianMDelaney
Tim, thanks for the reply. (Another change: I'm no longer getting email notifications when someone replies to a topic I've posted in.) Yes, my browser is remembering my password, so this isn't a huge crisis. Just strange that I'm being "kicked out" after brief absences. Brian Link to comment
BrianMDelaney
OK. Did more testing. I seem to stay logged in for at least a few hours. But then I have to sign in again. STrange. Link to comment
timc
I installed Chrome on Wednesday (for Windows 7, 64bit-Pro) and it has been 48 hours (with Chrome off). I opened up www.crsociety.org and it remembered "Fabricator". No need to login again. One thing of note is that when I first signed on, I was presented with this dialog (native to Chrome, AFAIK): Would you like to save this password? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Fabricator **************** -------------------------------------------------------------------- [save Password] [Nope...] I don't know if you ever saw that option or not ... ? In fact, now when I "Sign out" and close Chrome and open it back up, it remembers me (this *might* technically be a bug, but not clear whether on the Chrome side or the Forum). After going to Settings, Advanced Settings, Passwords, and clearing the password for www.crsociety.org, then when I returned, it no longer remembered me. Then, I relogged in and told it in the above dialog "Nope... Never for this site". Strangely, it remembers me regardless. However, this was because I used the other "Remember Me" function when signing on. [There may also be a distinction between "X"ing the browser shut and using options and "Exit".] Without trying every permutation, it seems to be harder for Google to forget than it is to remember. Maybe clearing passwords and cookies and resigning in (using the option above to "Save Password") might help. Link to comment

I'd tried almost every permutation, including your suggestions, and nothing worked. But then, mysteriously, as of a few days ago, I'm now being remembered! Have no idea why! Link to comment
BrianMDelaney
Tim, thanks for the reply. (Another change: I'm no longer getting email notifications when someone replies to a topic I've posted in.) For the record, I now know that the email notification problem was the result of a change to my email, resulting in -- I believe -- notifications being filtered at the server, to which I currently don't have access. (Tim, send me the relevant info when you have a chance, thanks!) Brian Link to comment
